Foundation Homes Offers Free Services to Families Affected by Fires
Kentfield-based Firm will waive Relocation Fees for Six Months

Kentfield—October 18, 2017

Foundation Homes International today announced that it was waiving all relocation fees associated with finding temporary or permanent rental residences for victims of Northern California’s devastating wildfires.  The firm estimated that relocation fees normally run up to $3000 depending on the service selected. The firm is also offering victims of the North Bay Fires complimentary access to their off-market listings (normal cost $95).

The free services offer will be in effect for six months.

“The suddenness of the devastation caused by the wildfires has been overwhelming,” said the firm’s principals, Christopher Barrow and Darcy Alkus Barrow, “and we want to be able to provide seamless support to those displaced and who have immediate housing needs.  We have set up a separate webpage on site, designed to expedite the process and to begin actively looking for properties for those displaced by the fires.”

Foundation said it accept online requests at https://foundationrentals.wufoo.com/forms/foundation-homes-north-bay-fire-relocation-help/.  “Our objective is to match available housing with those seeking a place to move within our region as expeditiously as possible without additional interruption to their lives.”  Foundation, founded in 2010 by the Barrows, primarily represents property in Marin County and San Francisco.

“A fire victim can submit a request for help via our website and we will assign a member of our team to assist them without charge with their search for a new house in Marin,” the Barrows said.  “This will include access to our listings, as well as those available to us through MLS and our agent network.  We will be available to assist with the lease negotiation between landlord and the insurance agency, help secure furnishings if needed, as well as try to help the fire victims get pets approved.

“We will also offer town and neighborhood tours to victims working with us who might be unfamiliar with Marin and need help understanding the area.  Our staff will be operating seven days a week for the next several weeks to try to get everyone settled as quickly as possible.”

The firm is an active supporter of community nonprofit organizations, including Adopt-a-Family, Marin Food Bank, Marin Foster Care Association, Marin Humane Society, the Taylor Lynn Foundation (San Rafael) and the Sparkle Foundation (Novato).
