Kentfield, CA—January 9, 2006 Lyla Max, a veteran public relations, event planning and non-profit funding development professional, has joined the Marin County-based public relations and marketing firm TOBIN & Associates in an of counsel role. At TOBIN, Ms. Max will be involved on project work for the firm’s clients, who include Bock Communications, Bluestein & Associates and Command Audio. She brings more than a decade of PR experience, having worked on high profile consumer product and travel companies with boutique agencies in New York City. “Lyla has the ability to find the right outlets to help companies position their products and services,” said Gary Tobin, principal of TOBIN & Associates. “She understands the research component as well how to convey clear and concise messages. And she is results oriented.” During her PR agency career, Ms. Max worked on projects for French West Indies Tourist Board, Hyatt Resorts, Hachette Filipacchi Magazines and Baume & Mercier watches. Operating as a PR consultant, she promoted the 1996 and 1997 Telluride (CO) Supercross snowboard contests as well as the Telluride Aids Benefit. She returned to San Francisco in 1998 to become the Docent/Membership/Volunteer Coordinator for San Francisco Architectural Heritage and Haas-Lilienthal House. She is currently researching and writing reviews for the North Bay editions of Frommer’s travel and tourist guides. A San Francisco native and NYU graduate, she was most recently Director of Development for Marin Montessori School in Corte Madera, CA.
